Love Is The Key Necklace Story

I am one of the many faces of neuropathy: “A neurological nerve disorder that affects 20 million people in the United States. While millions have it, you may not have heard of it.” In March 2008, I was diagnosed with Multifocal Motor Neuropathy. Reader's Digest explanation: it mimics ALS, but is treatable. Every 4-5 weeks, I have infusions of IVIG (Intravenous Immunoglobulin) for two days, 8 hours each day. I'll have this for life. It's very rare and even more rare for women to have it. Makes me feel like an exotic tropical fish. However, instead of becoming extinct, they have found a way to ‘feed’ me so I can keep swimming along!

Since I can't work in a lab to create preventive medicines or even ones that keep people like myself alive, I'll do what I can for the cause. I have the use of my hands again to do bead work (though you still wouldn't want me carrying your favorite crystal vase) and I'm going to make lemonade out of lemons.

15% of the money from the purchase of ‘LOVE IS THE KEY’ will be donated to the Neuropathy Association. “An organization created by neuropathy patients and their loved ones to give support and most importantly promote research into the causes of an cures for peripheral neuropathy.”

When I saw it, I knew that was IT.   Love is the Key is my mantra to everyone out there in any situation. Whether you are fighting a chronic illness, weathering these tough economic times, or just trying to make sense of this crazy world sometimes. This pendant is a reminder that through small acts of kindness and love to others we can open the door to a better world for everyone. We are the key.
